    Pertaining to Xanthus. ancient capital city of Lycia in southern Asia Minor, in present-day southwestern Turkey. It was destroyed by the Persians in 546 bc and again by the Romans in 42 bc. The remains of the city and numerous artworks were discovered by Sir Charles Fellows in 1838.
